    Call for Nominees for the ECOG Research and Education Young Investigator Award - 2008

    This is your opportunity to honor young talent in ECOG.

    Every year ECOG awards a member who is recommended by his or her institution as an outstanding leader. The purpose of this award is to recognize young investigators who have made substantial scientific or administrative contributions to ECOG. Any ECOG member may make nominations for this award. The nomination should include the following:

  • a letter of support from the nominating ECOG member
  • a copy of the applicant's curriculum vitae

    Send your nominations for the ECOG Research and Education Young Investigator Award. Nominations MUST be submitted no later than May 16 th, 2008. Please submit to:

    Paul Carbone, MD Fellowship Award - 2008
    The Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Research and Education Foundation is pleased to invite applications for an annual grant to a senior hematology or oncology fellow at an ECOG member institution. The purpose of this grant is to develop and promote excellence in clinical trials leading to improvements in cancer care, especially in the areas of cancer prevention and the treatment of cancer in the elderly.

    One award will be given annually with a total funding award of $25,000, plus funding for the awardee to attend the Spring ECOG Group Meeting (where the award recipient will be announced). Funding will begin on July 1st of the year in which the award is made. Applications will be reviewed and each year's awardee selected by the Board of Directors of the ECOG Research and Education Foundation.

    Eligibility: Physicians are eligible if they have completed a two-year fellowship in oncology at an ECOG member institution before receiving the award. They must be actively involved in cancer clinical trials, and will not have received their first full-time faculty appointment as of the award's effective date.

    Applications must meet the following criteria:

  • Summary of the clinical project to be undertaken (no more than three (3) pages)
  • Curriculum vitae of applicant
  • Letter of support from program director
  • Letter of sponsorship from a faculty mentor
  • Information about current and pending funding (if any)

    Applications MUST be submitted no later than April 18th, 2008. Please submit to:
